Freeing Hindu Temples? How easy is it?

#Freehindutemples. These days, we see many hindus openly supporting this movement and rightly so. logic being “ why should a govt handle a hindu temple, while places of worship of other religions are not?” fair argument. Let's go to the next level of discussion on this. what if Govt says “ ok, Govt will not handle the hindu temples anymore “. whats next then? sadly, many who support the #freetemples campaign havent thought about it. Take for example: The muzrai run Kateel temple. Suppose Govt gives away the control- who should take the control then? The Asrannas? The local business community? Some Mutt? We cant run away saying- "That will be looked into, later." Because its a complicated issue and I talked about only one temple. imagine the confusion, the groupism, the entry of big influential persons, the resulting division among the locals due to the elections for the trustees of one temple( especially if its a rich temple) Can you as a society handle this in ever...

The India they saw

From the Book- ‘’The India they saw’’ (it’s a compilation of what Foreigners wrote about India over the centuries). Alexander: What according to your normal logic should happen when a king wins a war? His army at the end should be nearly the same as before the war. 2.The enemy king should lose the land 3. He or his proxy should rule that land. 4. He should continue that path and conquer more land. The history of “Alexander -Porus” war was written by Alexandre’s Historians (who travelled with the Greek army). You can expect a certain bias in that history to satisfy the local Greek population. Even from their own accounts, the following is noticed. Only 1/4th of the Greek Army that attacked Porus returned from India. 75% of Alexanders army got decimated by Porus. Land under Porus became bigger than before the war. Alexander turned back to Greece from that place of war. (Alexander never step foot in present India. War happened in present Northwest Pakistan). The story about Alexander...

The Humble Bairas

Right now, somewhere in the world- 200 trees are cut every second. By the time, you finish reading this post, several thousand trees have already been cut. In a Year- 800 crores trees are cut.  Cut for what?  To make paper. The paper we use in a house- from kitchen Napkins to Tissues to Toilet Roll ( To wipe our Bum). This year we (the people of Planet Earth) consumed 400 million tons of paper for household use.   Just 30 years back- world was using half of this. We are cutting trees, like there is no tomorrow, because our usage of paper has grown exponentially. Maybe the richer you get- the less conscious you become about the environment or maybe just bad habits?  As expected the west consumes a lot of paper. In USA, per person average Paper consumption is 200 Kg’s per year. India's  is  just 15 Kg’s. That's a huge Difference.   One of the major reasons could be the Bairas or the hand towel- each Indian house has, at every corner. It’s...

Heard of the word “Middle lIfe crisis”?...does it indicate a “crisis”?...does it mean- it happens only in your ‘Middle Age”?.... why shouldn't I be a political analyst too?

Why shouldn’t I be an Analyst too? Since everyone is a political analyst, let me also dip my feet in it. Anyways, majority of the pollsters got it horribly wrong. Shows the extent of accuracy of their methodology. The pollsters getting it wrong by such a margin should be a humbling lesson to them. But if you notice-they act as if nothing happened and instead come up with new theories for the LS result. Telling the reasons after the results is not a difficult task. Hindsight is 20/20 So, let me give my analysis. Of course there would be many errors in my analysis too. 1.Stepping back a little, look around the world. Post Covid-Checkout the results of the Election of major democracies. From US to New Zealand. Covid stuck a nasty blow at the economy of the world. Poor suffered more than the rich, simply because they had less savings. In such a scenario- massive incumbency was generated against the current premier of their nation. Majority of them lost in the election after that. Covi...

Ashwamedha Yajna ended with the Horse put in the Yajna kunda in the End?

Samskrit has to be understood always in the context . You do direct word to word translation- it gets mistranslated. 1. In every Havan- this mantra is told "Shraddham *Medham* Yashah pragnyam vidhyam buddhim shriyam balam Ayushyam teja arogyam dehi me havyavahana " Is one praying for death to havyavahana (Agni) in this mantra?. Obviously not 2. Even today- a highly intellectual person is referred to as " Medhavi" 3. So many children are named Medha.( example; Medha Patkar, don't think her parents meant death or sacrifice to yajna) 4. Medha simply meant intelligent or Sharp. 5. "Shwa" meant yesterday or tomorrow,   "Ashwa" meant today or now . Ashwa was also referred to a horse. 6. When  your intellect ( Medha) is in the present moment ( Ashwa)-  nothing can shake it.  This is the essence of that Yajna which was called Ashwamedha yajna.   7. Only in some Ashwamedha yajna , horse was sent to other kingdoms as a symbol of the kings dominance. M...

The 'Conflict' about Srirama leaving Sita in Forest !

“ Rama sent Sita to the forest. That’s a Bad thing, Rest is all ok about him. ” This Statement has been one of the most “ Conflicting  ” issues for true Rambhakths. Resonates more among the woman, since the issue is a case of abandonment. Conflict for the Rambhakths is, they revere him and worship him, but when someone asks them this question- they have no clue as to,what to say. They feel guilty about it themselves too. Because a ‘doubt ‘has arose in their mind- “How can a Man who abandons his wife, ( because of an unproven accusation), be considered as God?”. Let’s see, how to address it. Many approaches to look at this and get clarity. Logical, scriptural, Emotional etc. Logical method: SriRama was born at least 7000 years ago (by conservative estimates). People all over the world have revered him, build temples for him. Surely, they must have read about this ‘abandonment’ issue. They must have discussed among themselves. Experts gone deeper into the issue. At the end- st...
